Your choice

Google Analytics is loaded only after you select “Accept analytics.” If you reject or have not decided, this site does not request the Google Analytics or Google Tag script. You can reopen the privacy and analytics control on any page and withdraw future consent. If Analytics was already loaded, withdrawal saves the denied choice and immediately reloads the page so the Google tag is no longer loaded.

Preference stored on this device

The site stores one first-party local-storage preference named jlc_optional_analytics_consent_v1. It contains only a schema version, your choice (granted or denied) and an expiry time. It does not contain identity or browsing history and expires after 180 days.

Measurement boundary

The analytics provider is Google Analytics 4. Measurement is limited to consented page views, active users and sessions. Non-consenting visitors are excluded, so Analytics reports will not represent all visitors.

• No User-ID or form, email, name, phone or free-text collection.
• No Google Signals, advertising personalisation or remarketing.
• No nationality, residence-status, financial, medical or child-profile fields.

Current configuration

The site uses a dedicated Japan Life Compass analytics property and web stream. Optional account-level data sharing, Google Signals, advertising personalisation, remarketing, User-ID and user-provided data collection are not enabled. Analytics remains disabled on your device unless you explicitly accept it.

Affiliate advertising

The homepage tourism section contains one Rakuten Travel banner and the Kanto day-out guide contains one related booking link, which also appears once on the homepage. Both formats are supplied through Moshimo Affiliate. Each placement is clearly marked as an advertisement. When an affiliate placement is loaded, it requests the supplied creative or link and may record an ad impression through Moshimo's one-pixel image. If you book after following one of these links, Japan Life Compass may receive a commission. The seven official Kanto tourism links are not affiliate links.

The homepage and housing, work and school guide each contain three owner-selected A8.net affiliate placements: a reuse-appliance banner, a Mercari link and a Cross House furnished-accommodation banner. Loading these placements requests images from A8.net, including one-pixel impression images. Following a link takes you to an external advertiser, whose privacy terms and offer conditions apply. Qualifying purchases or actions may earn this site a commission. The homepage and Kanto guide each also include four A8.net placements for NEEDS TOUR, Nippon Travel Agency, JTB Tabimonogatari and a prepaid data eSIM. These use the supplied banner and one-pixel impression images, and qualifying bookings or purchases may earn a commission. These advertising requests are separate from optional GA4 analytics; rejecting analytics keeps GA4 disabled but does not disable affiliate images.

Google AdSense advertising

This site includes the Google AdSense script so Google can verify the site and, after approval, provide advertising.
